TORREGIANI

Montecalvo Versiggia is a town in the Province of Pavia, located on the hills of the Oltrepò, 360 meters above sea level, with just over 500 inhabitants; in the locality to which it gave its name, "Ca 'Torregiani", the family was already firmly attested in 1500, as evidenced by the parish documents preserved in the parish church of S. Alessandro martyr.

The history of the Torregiani family, which today, with research not yet completed, boasts a genealogical tree of 5600 ancestors, is contained in the genealogical book written by Federico Torregiani: “The Torregiani of Montecalvo Versiggia. History of an Oltrepò family”, pages 232, published in April 2012 for EDO types - Edizioni Oltrepò di Voghera.

This is the story of the Oltrepò Pavese told through 10 family generations grappling with the vicissitudes of their times and with the poor and hard, but healthy, economy characterizing the agricultural world of the Pavia hills, today mainly cultivated with vineyards and homeland of Pinot Noir vinified in white.

The book is for sale on E-bay for € 20.00 or can be requested directly from the author: info@torregiani.it
